Guide to a flawless bathroom

A good resolution to take and keep

Are you tempted by a lighter trash can and savings in your wallet?

Although we are aware of the impact that the objects of our daily life have on the planet, it is not always easy to change our consumption habits, and even less to find solutions that correspond to us and that satisfy us as much.

We all like our bathroom to be clean and comfortable, but a pile of plastic and disposable objects is not synonymous with cleanliness. Between bottles of shampoo and shower gel, tubes of creams, toothpaste and deodorant or even make-up remover wipes, it is normal not to know where to start. The important thing is to proceed step by step in order to progress gradually and adopt long-term habits.

We give you some tips on how to adopt the zero waste method in your bathroom..

  1. Do you know how long you take to shower? Take the test, it's the first step! A reduced shower time can save a lot of water. Try not to exceed 5 minutes and do not forget to turn off the water when you soap yourself. If you have a bathtub, give yourself a bath in an exceptional way to take care of yourself. There are also shower heads that save water. A great ally to improve its quality and reduce your consumption!

  2. Replace shower gels with soap. Many times, soaps are made with fewer ingredients and higher quality ingredients. Try to check the composition all the same and compare it with your current solution, you will quickly see the difference. Prefer cold saponified soaps.

  3. Opt for solid shampoos. This is a more difficult stage to pass but which will eventually convince you. Take the time to test several brands and you will find one that suits you. You will certainly not turn back!

  4. Ban single-use products such as cotton pads and make-up remover wipes. These products are an ecological disaster. Today, many brands have launched washable solutions that are much better for the skin.

  5. Try “DIY”, or “Do It Yourself”. Make your own toothpaste, solid deodorant or even your household products. It can even become your relaxing weekend activity.

  6. Test the oriculi, or “ear cleaner” to replace the cotton swab. Opt for those made of bamboo and not plastic!

  7. You may have heard of interchangeable head toothbrushes. Consider those made from bamboo that are biodegradable.

  8. Eliminate disposable razors! Opt for homemade wax, or a razor with removable blades.

  9. And for you ladies, there is no shortage of “eco” protection on the market: menstrual panties, cups, washable pads. That's more protection, less chemicals and a big money saver!

  10. Consider greener alternatives to cleaning your bathroom or homemade solutions.

  11. Opt for Pure Bamboo toilet paper. It's soft and it's resistant, it's made of bamboo and without plastic, and it's pretty!😊
