This place is called “The Sea of Bamboo”.

WHY DO YOU SUPPLY FROM CHINA?
There are over 1500 species of bamboo which are distributed everywhere except Antarctica. A large part of these species come from Asia and America. They can grow at very variable altitudes up to 3000m. Spontaneous species are also found in continental Africa and Oceania. In Europe, no species arose naturally, and their range expanded through cultivation.
The thousands of species have their own characteristics. The plant can have a very different appearance depending on where it grows, the climate, the nature of the terrain, the altitude, etc. Bamboo can therefore have a different shape, size or even color.
Since quality is at the heart of our priorities, we have made the decision to leave bamboo where it is naturally present in order to preserve its characteristics and virtues for our paper.
HOW DO YOU OFFSET YOUR TRANSPORT-RELATED EMISSIONS?
When paper is from a renewable source, it can be considered an ecological material, but only if the impacts of its manufacture are well managed, from the forest to the leaf. The paper pulp that goes into the manufacture of conventional paper is a globalized resource. Paper pulp travels all over the world and manufacturers import it from everywhere. A “Made in France” product will not guarantee that the dough is of French origin. The wood used to make paper can also come from places where deforestation is critical. All non-certified paper represents a risk for the forest. The environmental standards applied to factories are not the same everywhere. Our mission is to reduce our impact as much as possible, first by opting for a renewable resource that uses very little water. Secondly, by optimizing our logistics as best we can in order to limit imports. We buy in large quantities, long and compact rolls.
ARE YOU NOT DEPRIVING THE PANDAS OF THEIR FOOD BY USING BAMBOO FOR MAKING PAPER?
Indeed, pandas mainly eat bamboo. They love it and can eat up to 20kg a day. But it's not just them! In some countries in Africa and Asia, some species are even grown to feed livestock.
Of course, we do not deprive our friends the pandas. The latter do not feed on the same species of bamboo that we use. The species we use is mainly used to make medicinal remedies, paper or even basketry.
Moreover, there are so many that it ends up being destroyed.

IS THE PAPER BLEACHED?
Yes and no. Our initial goal was to ban paper bleaching. It's less pretty, but we wanted to opt for the most durable solution possible. So we started with our unbleached paper to reduce our environmental impact. However, following numerous requests from our customers, we have decided to also offer bleached paper. The paper is bleached using a mixture of oxygen and hydrogen. This is one of the most durable and safe ways to bleach paper. In addition, it is a process that does not use chlorine.
DOES PAPER DISINTEGRATE AS EASILY AS CLASSIC PAPER?
Yes, our paper has been tested and has a high rate of degradation with water.
It is highly biodegradable and is not harmful to septic tanks..
